The second edition of the “Ongi Etorri euskararen herrira” (Welcome to the country of euskara!) campaign, promoted by the tourism and Basque language services of the five municipalities of the Urola Kosta region, aims to promote the use of the language in tourism and to share our language in the street with the people who visit us.
The aim of this initiative is to bring Basque closer to visitors, encouraging them not only to get to know the oldest language in Europe, but also to learn some words and use them with the help of the local inhabitants and the involvement of the tourism sector.
The campaign will be present in the five municipalities: Zarautz, Getaria, Aia, Zumaia and Orio, and, together with the Basque language, will publicise the wide range of tourist attractions in the area: culture, gastronomy, nature, museums, leisure activities, etc.
