Vitoria-Gasteiz

The capital of Euskadi, Vitoria-Gasteiz, has achieved the distinctions of Biosphere Destination Certification as a sustainable tourist destination in 2016, National Capital of Gastronomy 2014 and European Green Capital 2012. The city gathers a rich heritage with its recently restored Cathedral of Santa Maria and a first-class Historic Town Hall with Machete Square and La Casa del Cordón or the churches of San Vicente, San Miguel and San Pedro.

A romantic extension with Los Arquillos, Plaza de España and Plaza de la Virgen Blanca and a modern urbanism embraced by a spectacular Green Ring and a good quality of life.

Nor should we forget its cultural aspect, perfectly represented by the Basque Centre-Museum of Contemporary Art Artium and the BIBAT – Museum Fournier of Naipes, and the sport with great events like the Triathlon.

Enjoy its gastronomy, txakoli (young, fruity and slightly sparkling wine) and the wines of Rioja Alavesa that are produced less than an hour from the capital in a spectacular wine-growing landscape with wineries of famous architects and the oldest wine cellars.
