By the end of August, a different atmosphere can already be felt in Hondarribia. From 6 to 11 September, the town celebrates its patron saint festivities with almost one hundred activities organised by the City Council in collaboration with local associations and cultural organisations.
One of the highlights is the Alarde on 8 September, one of Hondarribia’s most deeply rooted traditions. On 10 September, Arrantzale Eguna will fill the streets with groups of all ages dressed in blue trousers or skirts, white T-shirts and checked scarves. Then, on 11 September, Baserritar Eguna will bring the festivities to a close with its traditional fair in the Alameda.
Six days of celebrations will feature fireworks, children’s activities, shows and live music, including performances by Skabidean, Janus Lester and Neomak, among others.
