Art returns to Bilbao’s neighbourhoods with a new edition of Expodistrito, a programme of temporary travelling exhibitions that brings a range of artistic disciplines to different districts across the city. Admission to all exhibitions is free.

From 1 September to 5 January 2027, the programme will feature photography and visual arts by artists including Anna Surinyach, Mengyin Wang, Sheila González Azcona, Adela Blanco and Miguel Ángel Vázquez.

Bilbao’s history will also take centre stage in three exhibitions exploring different aspects of the city’s past: the railway workers’ houses in Zabala, the evolution of Santutxu’s villas during the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s, and the centenary of the Aldatz Gora mountaineering group.
