The artist Óscar Vega is exhibiting The Red Guernica, his reinterpretation of Picasso’s work, at the Deusto Expo Center throughout the month of August. It is a 1,200m2 installation in which art and technology are combined in an anti-war and avant-garde work. Immigration, bullfighting, freedom, peace and globalisation are some of the themes that are captured in this work, which is around three metres high and seven metres long.
One of the distinctive features is the inclusion of QR codes that, when scanned with the phone, redirect to “the Gernika propositions”, one hundred phrases related to current problems for visitors to comment on and create an online conversation that serves as a discussion area. This turns the exhibition into an immersive experience that involves everyone who comes to see it.
Tickets can be purchased in advance online or at the venue at the box office. The price ranges from €10 for a normal ticket to €8.5 for a reduced ticket, with free entrance for children under five years.
