Zarautz invites you these days to his Euskal Astea-Vasca Week

Zarautz remains committed to Basque culture, although this year will not be celebrated on Basque Holiday (Euskal Jai Eguna).

Without Euskal Jai Eguna, but with a lot of culture and complying with all hygiene and safety measures. So is the Euskal Astea-Basque Week of this 2020 in Zarautz. “We are in a very special situation,” says Zarautz Mayor Xabier Txurruka. For this reason, the seaside resort is immersed in a different Basque Week, maintaining its commitment to culture.

Therefore, guaranteeing the safety of all participants, the City Council has decided to maintain the championships that are held every year in the Model Room. Thus, today at 19:00 hours the Trikitilaris Youth Contest will be held; tomorrow, at 6pm, the Youth Couples Dance Contest; On Friday, at 22:00 hours, the Final of the Contest of young bertsolaris; and on Saturday, at 11:00 a.m., the “XXXII. Aurresku Txapelketa” (Dance Competition). On Tuesday, September 8, the time of the Salve in charge of the Zarautz Abesbatza choir at 20:00 hours in the Church of the Franciscans and the next day the Major Mass sung by Schola Cantorum at 10:30 hours also in the Church of the Franciscans.
