The chefs of Championship of Pintxos Basque Country offer a tasting menu at the Hotel Maria Cristina in San Sebastián

Pintxos Experience is a unique event that brings glamor and gastronomy in one of the leading hotels in San Sebastián.

The renowned chefs Alex Múgica (La Cocina de Álex Múgica in Pamplona), Rubén González (Bar Restaurante Hotel La Casa del Patrón in Murgia), Josean Merino (Bar Restaurante PerretxiCo in Vitoria-Gasteiz), Iker González (Hotel María Cristina in San Sebastián) and Darran Williamson (Bar Bitoque de Albia in Bilbao) have teamed up to design a tasting menu that will be offered on Friday, March 28, 2014 at the Maria Cristina Hotel of San Sebastián at a price of 58 € (VAT included) per person.

The cooks have been winners and finalists Championship of Pintxos of Basque Country in its various editions.



At 21.00 hours this unique tasting menu will be served consisting of:

  • Tartar of smoked sardines. Alex Múgica
  • Mushroom Cappuccino. Rubén González
  • Eggs, mushrooms and foie gras with potato and truffle. Alex Múgica
  • Nougat foie with strained yogurt. Josean Merino
  • Smoked sea bass with rosemary and mint. Iker González
  • Corns Txipiron. Darran Williamson
  • Mini lamb burger with mustard and sour. Rubén González
  • Roast pork belly with pumpkin, trout roe and jonquil sea. Josean Merino
  • Bikini oxtail and roasted peppers soup. Darran Williamson
  • Banana Tatin. Iker González

  • Peñamonte Rosado 2014 – D.O. Toro.
  • Mote Real Crianza 2011 – D.O. Rioja.
