The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao celebrates its 25th anniversary

The museum, designed by architect Frank Gehry, celebrates its silver jubilee as a symbol of the city.

It is 25 years since the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao opened its doors to the Basque citizens for more than a month. From 25 October to 2 December, visits to the gallery will be free for all residents of the Basque Country.
In addition, to celebrate its anniversary, the Guggenheim presented a special programme at the beginning of the year with a wide range of shows, exhibitions and events that fill its agenda with interest.
In fact, and also thanks to this unique programme, the museum said goodbye to the summer season with a record number of visitors. A total of 449,477 people visited its facilities. This is the best figure achieved by the art gallery in the summer season in its 25 years of existence.
