Theatre and street arts in Bilbao

The Biscayne capital invites you to welcome autumn with its Kalealdia festival

The Festival of Theatre and Street Arts – Bilboko Kalealdia, organized every year by the Bilbao City Council, celebrates its 21st edition this year from 22 to 27 September.

The festival, which encompasses disciplines such as street theater, circus, dance, vertical dance, clown, music and stage installations, takes place in seven spaces of the town: Parque de Doña Casilda, Muelle del Arenal, Arenal, Plaza Arriaga, Lateral del Teatro Arriaga, Bizkaia Aretoa – UPV/EHU and Plaza Nueva.

In total, the programming has 73 performances from 26 international companies and 27 shows. Bilboko Kalealdia will host three state-level premieres – with barsanti Cia, Deabru Beltzak and Mystérieuses Coiffures – and three more in the Basque Country – with proposals from Balbal Company, Claire Ducreux & Toni Mira and Daraoma Cie.

The performances are free of charge in all cases, except “Bye bye, Conffeti”, by La Baldufa, which will require invitation. The mask will also be mandatory at all Bilboko Kalealdia 2020 events.
