The Napoleonic Market returns to the Arriaga Park in April

112 stands will be installed in Francisco Javier Landaburu, and Ipar Arriaga trusts that next year can be returned to the interior of the park

The Napoleonic Market will return to Arriaga Park on the first weekend of April: from 5 to 7 April. An event organized by the Association Ipar-Arriaga, with the collaboration of Vitoria 1813 and the City Council of Vitoria-Gasteiz. The event recreates the time of the Napoleonic invasion and the subsequent expulsion of the French.

This year there will be two camps with 60 recreators coming from Zaragoza, Burgos, Donostia and Vitoria-Gasteiz. The market will start with the traditional cannon at six o’clock on Friday afternoon. There will also be a new playground, located in the area closest to the buildings: educational games, puppets, workshops Escribania and ‘ School of small Soldiers’. There will Also be performances of the Galician Center, musical animation and street theatre. Duels will also take place with sabre and military round. It will be 112 stands of food and craft that will be installed next to the Arriaga Park. “It provides access to local merchants and Álava in order to sell their local product.”

The main objective of this market is to “revitalize the consumption of the neighborhood”. Last year, about 75,000 people went through the Napoleonic Market in the three days of celebration.
