The “Ciudad de Calahorra” contest presents in Irún a selectionof 19 works from the last edition

Highlights the painting "Txingudi Ikastola III" painted by the irundarra Susana Ferreira and received a mention of honor. The sample can be visited in Amaia until April 7

From March 15th to April 7th, the exhibition of works selected at the 22nd edition of the National Painting Competition “Ciudad de Calahorra” can be seen in the showroom at the Centro Cultural Amaia. It is a traveling exhibition that passes through several cities, and that during the next month you can enjoy in Irún.

Historically the peculiarity of this contest is that all the works, in one way or another have to reflect on the canvases topics related to the hotel and the horticulture, elements that identify the Rioja orchard, conditions that each artist interprets to his way and with his technique. It is true that, in the last editions, although some works follow this line, there are also works of other thematics.

Among the 19 exposed paintings are the winner, the painting called “Nasrid Self Portrait”, of Francisco Escalera González and was already in Irún exhibited within the competition Adour-Bidasoa. It also stands out among the four paintings with honorable mentions painted by the irundarra Susana Ferreira, table titled “Txingudi Ikastola III”. The visiting hours will be the usual of the room: from Tuesday to Saturday, from 18:00 to 21:00 hours; Sundays and public holidays, from 11:30 to 13:30 hours (closed Monday).
