Hondarribia is once again the runner-up in the second edition of the Spanish Pintxos Championship after Clemencet Peio achieved this position in the first edition
Carlos Nuez and David de la Calle from the Goxodenda in Hondarribia became the runners-up in the 2012 Spanish Pintxos Championship with their “paella, sweet paella”.
“It is a great satisfaction. We have dedicated a lot of time to this pintxo, to its concept, to every single detail… It represents the history of our establishment, which has grown from a bakery to a restaurant today… We were unable to make the finals in the Basque Country Savour it Pintxos Championship, but we were confident this pintxo would do well and this acknowledgement is very important for us”, they both agreed.
Hondarribia has extended its record in the Spanish Pintxos Championship and this second place adds to that achieved in the first edition by Peio Clemencet, from the Kaialde Restaurant, with his pintxo “The ear and foot of a Peio piglet with squid & corn”.
