The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao opens an exhibition in tribute to Joan Miró

Bilbao will host an exhibition dedicated to the painter for the first time.

Under the name Joan Miró. Absolute Reality. Paris, 1920-1945, the exhibition includes works produced by the Catalan artist during his trips to the French capital. This is a fundamental period for understanding his art and, in particular, the language of signs that characterises it, his personal vocabulary.
Although some of Miró’s works have been shown on other occasions in Bilbao as part of group exhibitions, this is the first time that a solo exhibition has been devoted to him.
With this exhibition, the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao inaugurates its 2023 season, during which it will host 7 other exhibitions in homage to artists such as Picasso, Kokoschka and Yayoi Kusama.
