Vitoria-Gasteiz once again leads the list of cities in the State in terms of fulfilment of the Sustainable Development Objectives, as reflected in the biennial report prepared by the Spanish Network for Sustainable Development (SNSD). However, the Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council, which participated in the event of presentation of the report ‘The SDOs in a hundred Spanish cities’ as a special guest, urged the organizing entity to look at all the indicators in future editions, since on this occasion 20 out of 101 have remained with no evaluation.
Although the results are not presented in the form of a ranking, but by panels and in individualized cards, in global terms the Basque capital has improved. It is the municipality that achieves the highest degree of compliance in a larger number of SDO, six in total compared to five two years ago and none in red, just like then.
The actions linked to objectives 5 (Gender equality), 6 (Clean water and sanitation), 12 (Responsible production and consumption), 13 (Climate action), 16 (Peace, justice and strong institutions) and 17 (Partnerships to achieve the objectives) stand out as being at the top of the ranking.
