Visiting San Sebastián on the big day of the city means joining the party to the rhythm of the drum and the barrel. More than 125 companies (formed by between 20-50 drums and 50-100 barrels, accompanied by a band, flag bearers and cantineras) take the city and make this a very special moment to know San Sebastián. It is the celebration of its patron, which starts at 00.00 in the Plaza de la Constitución with the raising of the flag of the city and that marks the beginning of a day full of music and tradition. A festival that the people of San Sebastian live with authentic emotion.
On these dates, in particular, on January 15 starts the season of cider houses in San Sebastian with the cry ‘txotx!’ To taste the cider of the season and the traditional cider house menu with cod omelet, fried cod with peppers, grilled pork chop and Idiazabal cheese, quince and walnuts.
