During the 8th edition of the Roman Festival Dies Oiassonis, Irun program multiple activities linked to the world of the gastronomy of the Roman time.
The festival, which takes visitors to the ancient Roman civilization with recreations, theater, circus, legionnaires, gastronomy, crafts and games, takes place from the 14th to 17th of July.
However, Ars Culinaria offers in advance from Friday, July 7, the possibility of tasting for € 1.50 per “pintxo”a sample of the miniature gastronomy made with ingredients from Roman times. In this Route of the Roman Pintxo participate more than 25 establishments hoteliers of different zones of Irun.
The workshops and tastings of Ars Culinaria are celebrated from 13rd to 16th of July during the Dies Oiassonis. There is one workshop to learn elaborating a Roman summer menu and a Roman “pintxo”and there is another one to learn how to make bread. Children could also enjoy in the ice cream making workshop.
There is also the possibility of tasting the wines of Roman Hispania and the vinum ex malis (cider), or have dinner a Roman gourmet menu, prepared by Irungo Atsegina, Antxon and Atalai and the Migas Factory, consisting of three dishes and a dessert. The appointment will be at the Oiasso Museum Square and at the end of the dinner, guests can enjoy the play “The Odyssey”.
