Hondarribia hosts the International Competition of Medieval Pinchos today and tomorrow

The seaside town of Hondarribia becomes today, Friday on May 4th, 2012, and on Saturday on May 5th at the venue of the International Competition of Medieval Pinchos organized by Medieval Cities and Towns Network. At 20.00 hours there will be a reception in the local council for participating chefs, one hour after the welcome dinner will celebrate at the Society Klink.

Saturday morning the stoves will begin to heat up and will start at 10.00 International Competition in Medieval Pinchos in Society Klink. The panel will issue its decision at 12.30 pm.

The ten cities and medieval villages that are submitted to the competition are Almazan, Consuegra, Coria, Estella-Lizarra, Hondarribia, Laguardia, Marvão, Olivenza, Sigüenza and Vila Viçosa. It is in this order and shall develop and submit to the jury his creations.

Once you know the judges’ decision and to 15.00 pinchos will be tasted at different establishments in Hondarribia.

This tasting will also be on Sunday May 6th between 12.00 and 15.00.

For the celebration of the International Competition of Pinchos in Hondarribia has designed a program of activities for all ages.

Saturday, May 5th, 2012
11:30 to 13:30 – San Pedro Street_Plays Kirola Herri children.
12:00 – In the town_Street band of Izugarriak of giants.
17:00 to 20:00 – Santiago_Holidays Street in Peace: music, dance and animation of the hand of partnership Tadamun.
18:00 – Arma Plaza_Exhibition Basque rural sports.
20:00 – Etxea Itsas Auditorium_Concert of Basque music “7ak oihal beretik” (2 €).
During the day Medieval Folk music itinerant theatrical tours and other animations.

Sunday, May 6th, 2012
10:00 to 14:00 – Santiago Street _Castles balloons.
12:00 – In the town_Street band of Izugarriak of giants.
11:30 – Santiago Street_ “Hondarribia Express” family treasure hunt.
During the morning, other entertainment activities.
17:30 – Gipuzkoa plaza_Theater puppet “Karolino, eta Printzesa Dragoiaren burua”.
