The collection of the Diocesan Museum of Sacred Art is not only an exhibition of undeniable historic and artistic value, but is a reflection of the religious experience of a people through artefacts created during a period of more than eight hundred years.
The current collection of the Diocesan Museum consists of carvings, canvases, articles of gold and silver and garments which were found in a serious state of neglect in almost one hundred parishes and chapels in the diocese. Before being shown to the public, these items were subjected to a long process of selection and restoration.
