Every year for a week Vitoria-Gasteiz becomes the world’s jazz capital.
With the critical and public success of the last edition, the 40th anniversary, still in our memory, the Vitoria-Gasteiz Jazz Festival hopes with this new edition to maintain the quality of a programme that is good enough to be considered one of the ten best festivals in Europe, according to the British newspaper The Guardian, and also the only Spanish event mentioned.
During the second week of July, the Festival will bring together established artists, promote new encounters and introduce young jazz talents. In addition, a homage to one of the great revolutionaries of jazz history, the great pianist and composer Thelonious Monk, is expected.
The great musical atmosphere that spreads to all corners of the city, the numerous performances, many of which are free, and the quality of the concerts, will undoubtedly guarantee the success of one of the best festivals on the continent.
