The 9th of September, the day of Our Lady of Aranzazu, the Euskal Jaiak (Basque Fiestas) take place, a splendid exhibition of local folklore lasting the whole week (from the 1st to the 9th).

Created in 1924 with the intention of encouraging tourists to prolong their stay, these fiestas are now hugely popular with the locals and bring together a large part of the Basque festive traditions.

During this week the streets fill with groups of dantzaris (Basque dancers), accompanied by players of the txistu flute and other original instruments.
