You can now visit the Bethlehem of the Narros Palace in Zarautz

It was 1961 when Zarautz inaugurated this Bethlehem that is installed in the Palace of Narros and that more than half a century later remains an attraction for anyone who comes to this town of Gipuzkoa.

This Bethlehem installed in Zarautz is much more than a set of figures: it is a classic in these Christmas festivities. It could be said that it is a must visit at this time, a tradition that all the inhabitants of Zarautz make year after year. And the truth is not for nothing, since the first Christmas Bethlehem was made in 1961 and since then the palace of Narros welcomes this static Bethlehem every year.

The parish choir Schola Cantorum (which will perform on the 24th at 18.30 in Bethlehem itself) took over the reins of its organization in its beginnings, just as the Cabalgata de Reyes, and today they continue to organize it with great enthusiasm. Some of the birth figures have been maintained from the beginning. In the year 87 the association reached an agreement with the City Council of Zarautz to renew the figures and in the following year, in 1988, they provided movement for the first time to some figures, such as the wings of angels or that of pigeons.

The Bethlehem can be visited until the next 7 January at the following time: from 11.00 to 14.00 and from 17.00 to 21.00 hours.
