The Hondarribia urban festivals, with events for all tastes and public, will take place from 6th to 11th September 2012. It features religious celebrations, sports competitions, traditional activities, games and performances for children, concerts of all kinds, fairground, brass bands and street entertainment, and so on.
A highlight is the “Alarde de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe” (Celebration of Our Lady of Guadalupe), fulfilling a vow made to the Virgin of Guadalupe in 1639 in gratitude for the city’s victory on occasion of the siege to which it was subjected by the French army.
