World Press Photo, the most important international photojournalism competition, comes to the city of Vitoria-Gasteiz every autumn.

Every year, the biggest names in journalism and the best international agencies take part in the competition.

The photograph exhibition is divided into 10 sections: the winning photo, contemporary themes, everyday life, current issues, recent news, people in their environment, portraits, nature, action sports and sports features.

And it addresses topics such as wars, domestic violence, organised crime, overcoming disease, large-scale catastrophes, peculiar characters and attitudes, and stories related to nature and the environment. An excellent chance for tourists to see the world’s best photographs.
