In this exhibition, visitors are invited to admire the beauty and colours of real specimens of butterflies from all over the world.

The whole collection was acquired by the Irun Local Council from its creator and owner Manuel Aguirresarobe in 2006.

The butterflies of Spain were collected by Manuel Aguirresarobe himself, while those from the rest of the world are the result of exchanges and swaps with fellow enthusiasts and institutions based in other countries.

The visit includes a documentary on the biological cycle of the butterfly. The collection contains a total of nearly 7,000 butterflies.
