The site of the
Campo de Miramar Royal Residence on the so-called "Pico del
Loro" (or parrot’s beak), marks the centre of the bay and
the starting point for a major part of the urban development
of San Sebastián.
Due to its location, the Miramar complex, made up of a palace
and adjoining park, as well as a number of buildings, gardens
and outhouses, has become the aesthetic focal point on which
the artistic and historical development of the city has turned.
