The Church of Santa
María, situated at the end of the Calle Mayor, was refurbished
and modified in the 17th century, coinciding with the Baroque
period of architecture. Originality, it was a Romanesque church,
although it was extended between the period 1522-1560 in the
Gothic-Renaissance style of which there are many examples
in the Basque Country.
