The "Fournier" Playing Card Museum of Alava was set up
in 1986, when the Provincial Council of Alava purchased The "Fournier" collection.
At that time, the collection consisted of 3150 decks of playing
cards. The size of the museum has increased over the years
thanks to a large number of donations and new acquisitions.
Today, the Museum contains 20,200 decks, some of them the
only ones of their kind in the world.
