This Museum is
located in the port of San Sebastián, in a building constructed
in the second half of the 18th century, the old "tower house" of
the Consulate (association of sailors and merchants of the
city). For many years, this building was a warehouse and the
home of the dock superintendent.
The permanent exhibition offers the public an overview and
synopsis of the relationship between the Basques and the sea
over the centuries, highlighting their long ship-building
tradition.
