The La Boqueria market in Barcelona was the scene chosen by Vitoria-Gasteiz to show why the city has managed to be National Capital of Gastronomy 2014. The promotion of the city and its culinary excellence is now in the gastronomic classroom market through three Vitoria Restaurants: Sagartoki with Senén González, Toloño, with Enrique Fuentes and Mikel Fuentes, and Matxete with Mikel Bilbao and Mikel Zuazo. Three show cookings in which prepare the popular Spanish burger, scrambled eggs with truffle Alava and potato salad with truffle vinaigrette, and Irish perretxiko, respectively.
The Mayor of Vitoria-Gasteiz, Javier Maroto, will present the award to the capital media guests of Barcelona, beside the culinary and tourist attractions of the city. After the show cooking, a lunch will be offered with Rioja Alava wine and craft beer. Typical products of the territory as Añana Salt, oil Moreda and craft beer also will be exhibit.
Andoni Zubizarreta, sporting director of FC Barcelona, which exert the time of Alava ambassador for its connection with Vitoria-Gasteiz, will be at the event.
And while the event is happening, actors Charo Martinez and David Lopez Landache, belonging to the theater group De L”Arte and dressed as chefs, they will promote the city between clients and market stalls.
